Suva -  Liberia and the Republic of Fiji  yesterday formalized diplomatic relations at the United Nations in New York, the Fijian government  has announced. Liberia's permanent representative to the UN, Ambassador Marjon Kamara, and her Fijian counterpart, Ambassador Peter Thomson, signed a joint communique establishing diplomatic relations between the two nations. The communique expresses the desire of the Republics of Fiji and Liberia to promote mutual understanding and strengthen ties and cooperation between the two countries. (FA)
