WINDHOEK - Namibia's flagship airport, the Hosea Kutako International Airport, is scheduled to welcome Lufthansa Group's inaugural flight from Frankfurt to Windhoek on Wednesday.

Namibia Airports Company marketing officer Dan Kamati on Tuesday said that the inaugural flight from Frankfurt to Windhoek will land on Wednesday morning in Windhoek.

Eurowings, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Lufthansa Group extended its long-haul portfolio with the introduction of the new flight route which will operate three times a week in winter, using an Airbus A330 aircraft with up to 310 seats.

According to Eurowings, the first flight departs from Frankfurt on Tuesday and will arrive in Windhoek on Wednesday.

Kamati told Xinhua that currently the country's flagship airport also accommodates direct flights from international airlines which include KLM, Qatar, Ethiopian Airways, Condor, and various South African airlines.(FA)
