NAIROBI - Giant US companies including Netflix, Delta, and resources company BHP are among the leading global players in Kenya’s voluntary carbon market, according to a new World Bank report.

Kenya became the second-largest issuer of carbon credits in Africa in 2022, with conservancy groups and communities raking in billions of shillings from the trade.

Records show that in 2022, Kenya was the second largest issuer of VCM carbon credits in Africa, after the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
