LONDON - Janet Rady Fine Art and House of Beau are pleased to present The Casablanca School and Beyond | A New Moroccan Generation, a collaborative exhibition displaying a selection of Moroccan artists illustrating the legacy of the Casablanca School extending into the contemporary art landscape. The artists include Malika Agueznay, Mohamed Anzaoui, Farid Belkahia, Mahi Binebine, Reda Boudina, Kamil Bouzoubaa-Grivel, Mohamed Chebaa, Mohamed Hamidi, Mohamed Melehi, and Abderrahim Trifis.
Arranged chronologically, the exhibition opens with several works exemplifying the stylistic reinvention of modern art begun by the Casablanca Group. These artists dominated Morocco's artistic scene throughout the 60's and 70's, and are commonly credited for devising an abstract visual style that abandoned Western preconceptions of 'the modern'. The exhibition continues with an exploration of contemporary Moroccan art, unquestionably influenced by the Casablanca School.
The show runs from Wednesday 29th May to Sunday 2nd June and is also displayed on our website, Artsy and Artscapy.
