Buenos Aires - The legendary footballer Diego Maradona has undergone successful brain surgery, according to his doctor.
After the 60-year-old Argentinian was admitted to Ipensa clinic in Buenos Aires suffering from anaemia and dehydration, Leopoldo Luque, Maradona's personal physician, said he had “coped well with the surgery” and will now remain under observation.
Maradona, who won the World Cup with Argentina in 1986 and is widely considered to be one of the greatest players of all time, coaches local club Gimnasia y Esgrima.
He last appeared in public on his 60th birthday last Friday before his side's league match against Patronato.
