BEIRUT - Several air strikes hit Baalbek in eastern Lebanon, after the Israeli military issued eviction orders for parts of the historic city and a neighbouring village. The strikes in Baalbek and Douris destroyed or damaged many buildings, including a restaurant just metres from the Baalbek's main government-run hospital. Lebanon's Health Ministry said the hospital, “which is currently crowded with patients and wounded individuals”, was also damaged.

An Israeli strike destroyed a bridge in the upper areas of northern Lebanon, in an expansion of an aerial campaign against Hezbollah supply lines from Syria. One child was killed in the attack on Akroum, in Akkar governorate, on the border with Syria, Lebanon's National News Agency reported.

Israeli marine commandos abducted a Lebanese ship captain in the town of Batroun, in northern Lebanon, in an operation launched by sea. They “apprehended” a senior Hezbollah member, an Israeli military official said on Saturday.
