BRUSSELS - A Brexit deal must be agreed by Sunday or there will be no deal, according to the British Prime minister Boris Johnson and EU Commission President Ursula von der Leyen.

A Downing Street spokesperson said that after a “lively and frank” three-hour dinner last night, “very large gaps remain”.

However, they added that talks will continue with a “firm decision” by Sunday.

Von der Leyen said that the two sides were still “far apart”.

The two leaders held a three-hour-long meeting in Brussels over dinner in the commission's Berlaymont building which von der Leyen described in a statement as "lively" and "interesting".
