SOFIA - Authorities in the Bulgarian capital have captured 8.03 million undeclared cigarettes, the Interior Ministry and the National Customs Agency said in a joint statement on Tuesday.

As much as 7.3 million cigarettes without labels were found on Friday when the authorities inspected a truck parked in front of a warehouse in the Sofia district of Iskar, the statement said.

A subsequent inspection at the warehouse in front of which the truck was parked found another 730,000 illegal cigarettes, it said.

The damage to the state coffer amounted to 1.69 million U.S. dollars, it said.(FA)
