LONDON - Britain is already halfway to its goal of being carbon neutral by 2050, The Times reports.
Greenhouse gases have fallen by 51% against the government’s baseline for measuring progress towards net zero, with carbon dioxide emissions falling by 13% last year to the lowest level in nearly 150 years.
The biggest factor in the long-term decline is thought to be the closure of coal-fired power stations.
