WASHINGTON - The Center for the Study of Islam and Democracy (CSID) is organizing a worldwide Campaign to win the release of the Tunisia leader Sheikh Rached Ghannouchi from jail.
Sheikh Rached Ghannouchi has been languishing in jail in Tunisia since 17 April 2023, without any charges, other than opposing the COUP against democracy in Tunisia.
He is the Founder & President of the Ennahdha party, the largest political party in Tunisia, and the elected President of the Tunisian Parliament since 2019. He is 82 years old, and suffers from several illnesses, including high blood pressure, and diabetes.
