MAIDUGURI - Militants on Sunday attacked the convoy of Borno state governor, Babagana Zulum, while returning to the capital, Maiduguri.
No deaths have been reported.
It is not clear if the governor was in the convoy.
The attack happened barely 48 hours after militants had ambushed the governor’s convoy in Baga town. At least 30 people died in the attack including soldiers and policemen.
Governor Zulum survived Friday's attack without injuries.
The Islamic State (IS) group said it carried out the attack.
The governor had toured Baga town in preparation for the return of thousands of residents displaced by Boko Haram militants in 2014.(FA)
