JUBA - The Kenyan government has announced the death of its ambassador to South Sudan, Chris Mburu.
Mr Mburu collapsed and died at his residence in Juba on Sunday night, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs told the Daily Nation newspaper.
The family of Mr Mburu told Kenya's Citizen TV that the ambassador died of a heart attack.
President Uhuru Kenyatta has sent his condolences to the family of ambassador, and paid tribute to the "distinguished career public servant and a great Kenyan diplomat".
He added that the late ambassador was "committed to building strong bilateral ties between Kenya and South Sudan".
Mr Mburu was a former director at Kenya's National Intelligence Service before his appointment in 2018.(FA)
